Ivy Ingram, M.A., is a certified Ayurvedic health practitioner and yoga instructor based in Austin, Texas. She conducts individual Ayurvedic consultations, workshops and yoga classes with a focus on restoring balance and finding contentment. She studied Ayurveda with the world-renowned Dr. Vasant Lad in an intensive one-year program at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Subsequently, she studied Ayurveda in southern India for five months. Her primary teacher there is Dr. A.R. Ramadas, with whom she studied nutrition, herbs, spiritual practices, panchakarma theory and therapies. She is a professional level member of the National Ayurvedic Medicine Association.
Ivy is also a nationally certified yoga instructor and has been teaching yoga and meditation since 2002. She has completed two 200-hour yoga teacher training programs, one at Kripalu Yoga Center and another at Integrative Yoga Therapy. She also has specialized training in teaching yoga to people with cancer and cardiac conditions, as well as pre-natal yoga. She has taught yoga and meditation in a variety of settings including a Harvard teaching hospital, a cancer treatment center, and the Oregon prison system. A dedicated student of vedic chant and Sanskrit, she is fascinated by the power of the spoken word, sound and poetry in fostering healing. She has a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Boston College, a bachelor’s degree in Literature from Brown University, and a life-long commitment to helping people find their own path to health.
